Barton Foundation
Involved in Annual
American Century
Championship
After a year-long pause due to COVID-19 restrictions, spectators were once again invited to attend the 32nd annual American Century Championships, the premier celebrity golf event in the world. The 54-hole tournament, held at the beautiful Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline, Nev., has long been a staple of NBC Sports, as the event is televised nationally each July.
With a $600,000 total purse, the tournament annually draws throngs of fans, who turn out to see their favorite celebrities in action on the golf course located adjacent to Lake Tahoe.
The tournament is known for its commitment to
philanthropy, both nationally and locally. Local nonprofits are invited to manage both food and beverage concession stands. For their efforts, each non-profit organization receives a percentage of the total sales.
The Barton Foundation Board of Trustees members and volunteers provided their expertise in helping to run the concession stands at several locations on the course. A fun time was had by all, and for our volunteer efforts, the Barton Foundation was awarded nearly $6,000!
Thank you to the American Century Championship for your commitment to Lake Tahoe’s non-profit community!
